EIS PTA Commissions New Nurses' Station and Borehole
EIS Parents, Teachers, Association (PTA) recently commissioned a Nurses' Station on the grounds of the school campus. The event occurred after the Prize-giving Day Ceremony held on the Secondary School campus on July 18, 2009. Several parents and members of the PTA's Executive Committee, headed by Malam Ali Joda, attended the brief ceremony. The PTA initiated the project in April 2009 to expand the nursing facilities available to the Essence campus community. The Nurses' Station includes 4 beds, an air conditioner, 2 fans, 2 toilets and a nurses reception area including a water dispenser, cabinets and sink.
Next, the PTA commissioned the new school borehole which supplies water to the school. This has ensured that the school can maintain a hygenic and conducive environment during water outages in the area. Both projects were fully initiated, funded and managed by the PTA.
